Cookie Heart Attack

I was trying to be awesomely sweet today by making chocolate chip cookies. Well though the thought was sweet the cookies turned into an instant heart attack. The recipe called for one stick of butter or 1/2 cup. My mom always buys the long skinny sticks and Britton bought the short fat ones. Naturally I just assumed that two short sticks equaled one long one or 1/2 cup (because I didn't read the back!) Anyway these cookies are crazy buttery and flaky. Basically it's like butter in cookie form. The first three bites were good but I ate TWO WHOLE COOKIES! I feel like I might die. want one? Trust me... you don't

Happy Valentines Day!

I hope every ones Valentines day was wonderful. I used to hate this holiday because I never had a boy friend growing up. Especially in high school when all the boyfriends of every other girl would show up with flowers, chocolate and stuffed animals and "surprise" their girlfriends. Did any one else feel this way? I always used to hope there would be something left on my desk from a secret admirer. Know what though? My valentine finally showed up and now I feel bad for those girls I went to high school with because mine is permanent and they may have a valentine one year but maybe not next year. I don't know why I'm ranting I will stop now.

This year was awesome for me. We actually ended up celebrating Valentines day on Sunday because We were both too excited about what we got each other to wait any longer to give our gifts! It was fun though, kinda romantic knowing we were probably the only ones in the world celebrating Valentines day On Sunday instead of with everyone else, right? It felt kinda special. He was really sweet and got me these:






I got him a start to his tools collection, a circular saw. It is kinda a big Valentines day present I realize but it just happened so whatever. He loves it! We shared chocolate, watched a movie and cuddled.





Well I love holidays and now I can say I have a reason to love Valentines day. Happy Valentines all!

Sunday Dinner and Football

Happy Super Bowl everyone! Today Britton and I decided to celebrate with a mini party. We cooked waffles, crepes, eggs, sausage and had fresh fruit and orange juice! Soooo good, let me tell you. It was a sweet start to watching the Super Bowl. Have a great weekend!

One post at A Time

Okay. I am going to update my life starting from the furthest back (in time) at one post a day (hopefully) Then maybe I can catch up to the present day!

While I was in Florida hanging out with my family, learning how to shoot a gun! (coming later) and sewing. My mom was AWESOME and gave me all her Christmas decor so now my house next year will be rockin'. I also had the freakin brilliant idea to do after Christmas decor shopping. It was brilliant. Things were so cheap I almost couldn't stop buying, but of course Britton had me on a budget ;) below are a few pictures of my spoils, my couture stockings my mother and I made (from pure designer silk!) and yes. I went back to my natural hair color, HALELUJIA!

December and Catching Up

It has been way to long since I have updated my blog! Hello world, sorry I disappeared. This will just be short update of the Nilsen house in December.
It is cold outside! It has been snowing on and off so I was able to build and complete my very first snow man! Her name was Ella, she already died due to the sun. Since we are going to Florida soon (for Christmas) we wont be doing decorations or a tree this year, but next year we will be! I am so very excited to be in Florida and hang out with friends and family doing all the old school stuff. All my Florida peeps know what I'm talking about. Probably the most exciting news/update is that Britton got another promotion and I am enrolled in school! I am sooo excited you have no idea. Ever since I was a little kid and first walked into a dental office I new one day that where I wanted to work. In one short year I will finally be there! Well enjoy the pictures and have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
